Commentary on "The Atmosphere of Praise"

TERRY MIRRA

Day 7: Friday, May 21, 2010

OVERVIEW

All that’s given for further study are Ellen G. White quotes. There are absolutely no Bible verses mentioned. It’s obvious from the particular E. G. White quotes they selected that different types of “atmospheres” were the theme. The phrases “frosty atmosphere”, “sunny atmosphere”, “divine atmosphere”, “corrupted atmosphere” and “holier atmosphere” were all within the quotations given. The discussion questions are a mostly about air pollution and the health benefits of clean air.

OBSERVATIONS

This is simply nonsense. Even the quotes and the discussion questions are randomly put together without any real consistency to it. It’s pseudo-spiritual talk that has no scriptural or biblical basis whatsoever. There’s nothing else to say about this.

CONCLUSIONS

  1. It’s about the Holy Spirit, not air, oxygen, or atmosphere.
  2. An “atmosphere of praise” is not a thing to be obtained, or a state to be reached, but rather an outpouring of a believer’s grateful heart towards our God of immeasurable love and grace—all the time.

“Let everything that breathes praise the Lord” (Psalm 150:6)

“Therefore, through Him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of our lips that confess His name.” (Heb. 13:15, emphasis mine)
