Day 5: Wednesday, July 13, 2011 - Remember Your Sanctifier
Remember Me (Christ)
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: On the night when He was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said, “This is My body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.”
In the same way, after supper He also took the cup and said, “This cup is the new covenant established by My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 1st Corinthians 11:23-25
The New Covenant which we as believers are under is the Blood of Christ Jesus and here as plain as can possibly be put we find Jesus Himself stating that The Lord's Table, our as often as you partake of it reminder is about remembering Christ our Redeemer.
We are not to boast in a day but in the Lord of that Day.
We are to Boast in Christ and His finished work on the Cross for us.
Period.
Remember Christ.
Remember His life work.
Remember what He taught.
But most importantly boast in the Cross and how He saved you there.
Once again the New Covenant is about our attention being fully focused on the right thing, and that thing is not a Day. It's not the day of rest after Creation, it is not The Sabbath Day. It is not a Jewish Festival or any of the vast numbers of things that Christ our Savior was the reality of, we are not to look to the Shadows or worship the Shadows we are called to remember the reality.
Jesus Christ the caster of shadows and only way of Redcemption.
Worship Christ, period.
