Commentary on "Clothed in Christ"

ANE EDWARDS

Day 5: Wednesday June 22, 2011 - In the Twinkling of an Eye

OVERVIEW

Today's lesson talks about that moment in time, in which we will finally be clothed in our immortal flesh.

OBSERVATIONS

Today's lesson ends, asking the following question in regards to the promise that one day believers will receive immortal flesh:

"Think about the hope we have in Jesus ... What could this world, in any conceivable manner, offer that would make it worth losing the promise revealed here?"

No one can lose this promise! Not believers, and not unbelievers.

Unbelievers can't lose the promise, because the promise was never made to them. One can't lose something one has never been guaranteed to receive.

And how can a promise, made to believers by God, guaranteed by God (Eph. 1:13-14), suddenly become invalid, so as to be lost? Aren't God's promises trustworthy?
